A stylish design
Sustainability has never been so important to our everyday lives. When it comes to kitchen design, now is the right time to consider ways you can be more sustainable. Whether you’re upcycling furniture, using locally grown ingredients, avoiding food waste, or including more plants in your home, there are plenty of ways to bring sustainable elements into your kitchen.
Using sustainable materials
Instead of buying all new cabinetry and decorations for your new design, imagine ways you could reuse what you already have. Existing cabinetry can be repainted for a fresh feel, or you could simply replace the doors and handles to give that new look. If you do choose to buy new cabinets, try an dincorporate local renewable wood or even look out for cabinets made of recycled materials. For instance, we re-used the existing steel cabinetry shell, and added the birch plywood fronts and an ash face veneer for that modern feel.
Save on energy
At NEFF, we create products that not only look good but also do good too. Take our oven feature CircoTherm® for example: you can cook three dishes on three levels all at the same time. This means your chocolate cake, roast potatoes and chicken could all cook at the same time without intermingling flavours — reducing electricity consumption and cooking time at the same time.
Keep food fresher for longer
Save energy by Super Cooling your fridge from the supermarket. By temporarily reducing your fridge temperature by 2 degrees before putting away your shopping, the fridge temperature will remain constant, even after leaving the door open — helping to keep your food fresher for longer and reduce food waste.
Simple habits with a big impact
While its important to be mindful of energy use, being sustainable also means saving water too! First and foremost, saving water is about being mindful of our consumption. By adopting simple habits like turning off the tap while washing up, fixing leaky taps, and using water-efficient appliances, we can help to reduce our water usage without sacrificing comfort or convenience. Also, using a dishwasher uses less water than washing up by hand. What's more, using special eco-programs on NEFF models will help you use less water and electricity.
Keep on top of energy use
NEFF's smart home integration technology allows you to control and monitor your kitchen appliances remotely. You can optimise energy usage by turning off appliances when not in use or adjust settings for maximum efficiency.
