Plinth heights, unit height and grid dimensions
The kitchen industry uses grid dimensions to ensure a harmonious overall appearance when planning a kitchen. There are different width and height grids.
Width grid:
The majority of manufacturers offer standardised width grids. The most common are 10cm and 15cm grids. This results in kitchen cabinet widths of 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80, 90, 100 and 120cm or 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120cm. In addition, there are also various bespoke sizes.

Height grid
A common height grid in the industry is the 13cm grid.
The kitchen plinth and the unit height also determine the height of base and tall units.
Unit and plinth heights
The height of the plinth and unit varies depending on the manufacturer, resulting in different looks and storage space options. The variable plinth height allows you to achieve any desired working height. The plinth is usually set back by 5cm so that you can stand comfortably.
