MICROWAVE SYMBOLS AND SETTINGS GUIDE
Our microwaves offer different settings and functions to satisfy any of your needs. Whether you want to defrost or grill your vegetables, bake a pizza, or roast poultry we have it all covered. Here is a simple guide to make the best out of your NEFF microwave. We will explain the cleaning and safety symbols, heating functions, cooking options, and help you set up your new appliance.
On /Off: Press this button to switch on and off your microwave.
Main menu: Selects operating modes and settings.
Time-setting options: Sets the timer, cooking time or “Finished at” start delay.
Information: Displays additional information. Displays the current temperature.
Rapid heating: Activating or deactivating the “Rapid heating” function.

Types of heating: Select the desired heating type and temperature for your food.
Microwave: You can use the microwave to cook, heat up or defrost your dishes more quickly.
Microwave combination: You can also use this to switch on a type of heating on the microwave.
Microwave programmes: You can use these to prepare food using the microwave.
Baking and roasting assistant: Recommended settings for baking and roasting.
My Profile: Individually adjusting the appliance settings.
Home Connect Assistant: Connectiong your appliance to your mobile device.
Dry: Use after every operation with Easy Clean or the microwave.
Floor cleaning aid: Cleaning the cooking compartment floor.
Easy Clean: Cleaning light soiling from the cooking compartment.
Pyrolytic self-cleaning: Cleaning the cooking compartment.

Hot Air: For baking and cooking on one or more levels.
The fan distributes the heat from the ring heating element in the back panel evenly around the cooking compartment.
Top/Bottom heating: For traditional baking and roasting on one level. Especially suitable for cakes with moist toppings.
Heat is emitted evenly from above and below.
Bottom heating: For cooking in a bain marie and for baking food for extra time.
Heat is emitted from below.
Circo-roasting: For roasting poultry, whole fish and larger pieces of meat.
The grill element and the fan switch on and off alternately. The fan circulated the hot air around the food.
Pizza setting: For cooking pizza and dishes that require a lot of heat from underneath.
The bottom heating element and the ring-shaped heating element in the back wall heat the cooking compartment.
Grill, large area: For grilling flat items, such as steaks or sausages, for making toast, and for browning food.
The central area underneath the grill element becomes hot.
Grill, small area: For grilling small amounts of steak or sausages, for making toast and for browning food.

Slow cooking: For gentle and slow cooking of seared, tender pieces of meat in ovenware without a lid.
Heat is emitted evenly from above and below at low temperatures.
Dough proving: For proofing yeast dough and sourdough and for culturing yoghurt. Dough proves more quickly than at room temperature. The surface of the dough does not dry out.
Plate warming: For preheating ovenware.
Keep warm: For keeping cooked food warm.
Descaling: Used to descale the evaporator and keep it operational.
