If the touch buttons on your NEFF induction hob stop working or responding, especially after water has come into contact with them, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Dry the Control Panel
Wipe Off Water: Immediately dry the touch control panel with a soft, dry cloth. Moisture on the panel can cause the touch buttons to become unresponsive.
Allow Time to Dry: If a significant amount of water spilled, it might be helpful to let the hob air dry for a few minutes before attempting to use it again.
2. Power Cycle the Hob
Turn Off the Hob: Switch off the hob using the main power button or by turning off the power supply at the circuit breaker.
Unplug if Possible: If accessible, unplug the hob from the electrical outlet or switch off the circuit breaker.
Wait: Leave the hob off for about 5-10 minutes. This allows any residual moisture to evaporate and can reset the touch controls.
Turn It Back On: After waiting, reconnect the power and turn the hob back on to see if the touch buttons are responsive again.
3. Check for Lock Mode Activation
Child Lock: Ensure that the hob is not in child lock mode, which might prevent the buttons from responding. If the lock symbol is lit, press and hold the lock button for a few seconds to deactivate it.
4.Clean the Control Panel
Remove Residue: Even after drying, there may be residue left on the control panel from the water. Gently clean the panel with a soft, slightly damp cloth, followed by a dry cloth to ensure it's completely free of moisture and debris.
If the touch buttons still do not respond after these steps, there may be a deeper issue requiring professional repair. Contact NEFF customer support or schedule a service visit to have a technician inspect the hob.
