Trained in fashion design, Chetna moved to Broadstairs, Kent in 2006. Her mother was one of her early inspirations, teaching her everything she knows about Indian flavours. After having her two children, she became more and more interested in baking.

In 2014, she competed in the Great British Bake Off reaching the semi-finals allowing her to experiment with her baking and giving her the confidence to release her first book "The Cardamom Trail" that puts an Indian spin on Western cuisine. In 2017, she released her second book "Chai, Chaat & Chutney" an ode to her heritage in which she brings together the best street food recipes of all corners of India.
